Familiar Abstractions
A television broadcasting company had a unique problem to be solved in their new work space. They had a public area that they wanted to create custom artwork for, and they wanted to use proprietary content from a variety of movies and TV shows that they broadcast as content for that artwork. Unfortunately, they couldn’t get the legal rights to use that proprietary content in the public space. So with those considerations in mind, we were given permission to use some of their proprietary content and distort it until it was unrecognizable. That way they could have their proprietary content, but it could also be approved by the legal team for public use. The end result is a series of large format art panels that feature colorful abstractions and textures, which provide a vague, but familiar look and feel that ties back to movies and shows that the company produces.

Fun & Functional
Custom, movable wall panels were designed to create color and texture in an otherwise white, empty space. The textured wall panels provided functional sound dampening to reduce echo, but also provided visual texture, while the abstract graphic panels provided texture in a different way. The graphic panels took stills from recognizable shows and movies that were produced by the television broadcasting client, but abstracted them to the point where they simply became abstract visual textures. They were designed to be intentionally unrecognizable, due to legal concerns, but they were also a fun and affective way to increase brand awareness through the use of color and texture.
