Red Bull Music Academy NY

Custom signage and wayfinding was designed to help create a more gentle flow as visitors navigate the RBMA headquarters in New York. The physical curvature of the dimensional signage and the optical curvature of the vinyl signage were designed to reinforce the curvature of the walls and other architectural components throughout their unique space. Abstract patterns were also designed as custom wallpaper and textural backdrops for various photo opportunities.

Dimensional Signage

All room signage was fabricated with a clear acrylic. The lettering for each room name was laser cut into the top curved surface.

Curves on Curves

The soft curves of the room signage were designed to mimic the soft curves of the walls and rooms throughout their NY headquarters. This helped establish a more unified look and feel and a consistent visual language throughout the space.

Faux Real Depth

The smaller rooms have room numbers instead of room names, so they needed to be slightly different in execution. They still needed to speak the same visual language, but in a different way. So instead of flat letters etched into dimensional signage, the signage for smaller rooms was designed with faux depth instead and installed as flat vinyl.
